Inside Out

Monday night I saw Pixar's Inside Out after eating a delicious turkey burger at Iron Hill Brewery with a friend from school (It was my first time there). This is a tangent but sometimes burgers aren't good because they fall apart or have something weird on them. But Monday, this burger was good--the bun kept everything together and the patty was smothered in cheese. Anyway, the premise of the movie is that emotions live up in our head and control how we respond to situations and the like. Riley's main emotion was Joy, so most of her memories are happy ones. But when Riley and her family move to San Francisco, well oh man, everything goes down the drain. Joy and Sadness have to find their way back to headquarters and we get to see all sorts of realms of the brain, like imagination and dream production and long term memory. It was all pretty cool.

I think I was laughing the whole time. And the Pixar short before the movie had some pretty good puns. A volcano in the ocean was singing about "someone to lava." Get it? So many jokes and one liners, I loved it. Also, at one point, Riley gets a brain freeze and the five emotions in headquarters freeze up. Side note, Riley is 11. So imagine in a potential sequel, when Riley discovers alcohol and the emotions either get drowned in it or they become dizzy! I thought that would be funny.
