Edinburgh: Modern Art

Edinburgh has four free art museums and I went to all four. Modern One and Modern Two are located across the street from each other and that's where I spent my Sunday morning. I found out that Modern Two had a special exhibit on M.C. Escher and I just had to go. In my honors math class in the spring, Escher was a main theme--his name is even in the title of the book we used (Godel, Escher, Bach: an Eternal Golden Braid).

I took a few pictures in the gallery even though we weren't allowed--I swear I didn't know. But it was super cool to see in person what I only saw in black and white in a little book.

By the time I got to Modern One, I was tired so I mostly explored the outside, which consisted of these weird grass mounds that wound around a man-made pond. Both Modern One and Modern Two had neon signs that proclaimed "there will be no miracles here" and "everything is going to be alright." Kind of cool but interpret as you will.
