12 mile hike starting at the Gabe Zimmerman trailhead out by Vail. Pretty flat as we were mostly in the dry riverbed. Juan wanted to find some preserve without paying so we made it 6 miles out before we decided to head back, It was getting dark and we walked most of the way back in the pitch black. We saw a javelina and I was scared of getting killed (by the javelina or a person). The cool part was that the stars lit up the desert so we didn't always need our lights. After getting lost, we righted ourselves on the train tracks and made it back. Boy was I tired.
