So for the past 5.5ish weeks, I have been plowing through Dawson's Creek. The whole series. Six seasons, so many episodes, too many monologues from Dawson. I am finally finished. It is kind of sad, you know? But anyway, a few thoughts.
It definitely should have been called Joey's Creek, although that doesn't have much ring to it. She is in all the episodes and much of the later episodes focus heavily on her. Maybe I am biased because she is my favorite character and I hate Dawson, but still. Come on.
Keep your friends close. Yeah, at the end, everyone is still friends (well, those who are still alive, oops), but to make friendships work when you are far apart, you need to keep in touch. Not everyone is soul mates like Dawson and Joey, who can pick up where they left off. Friendships take work. But through it all, everything can work out, if you just try.
Okay, okay, sorry for all the Joey pictures. But another thing is that it is okay to make mistakes and try something new. Joey is usually uptight but when she lets go, it is very entertaining. All work and no play make Joey a dull girl with a dull life. She had many opportunities for adventures. She took some and said no to others--each was a tiny step outside her comfort zone to grow as a person.
Dawson talks too much and thinks Joey belongs to him. That is all. (Can you tell I cringe every time he talks?)
Well, I am glad that I finished the show before Rome. I'm going tomorrow. Wow. Very nervous and excited. I have to believe that it will all work out. I'll have a great time, I know it. Until then.
